There is no concept of overbilling nor are inflated bills sent to any consumer: Spokesperson KE
Karachi, October 2, 2015: K-Electric issued a press statement in which the company strongly condemned the FIR registered against some of its employees. The statement further added that the allegations of overbilling were wrong and baseless.
KE Spokesperson further added that the power utility will respond strongly against the lodged FIR. Adding to the statement KE spokesperson said “Various forums have been created where consumers can register their complaints. Theft ratio in most parts of Surjani stand at over 60% whereas the bill recovery or paying ratio is less than 30%. KE officers are rigorously making their best efforts to curb power theft which is a heinous crime in a civilized society. During recoveries and raid against power theft, KE staff has been threatened with baseless FIR’s and continuously faces such challenges”.
KE spokesperson added that ‘Customers are sent bills according to meter readings of each locality – K-Electric’s technical staff ensured that its valued customers get electricity bills according to the units consumed. In the case of any discrepancy in the number of units consumed the cost of the bill is promptly rectified by the technical teams and the additional cost paid is adjusted.’
K-Electric will continue its operation against power theft and work rigorously to improve the overall power situation of the city.
