Karachi, June 07, 2014: K-Electric has said that joint teams of KE and FIA supported by Police and accompanied by EIK representative had been conducting successful raid against electricity theft by checking the hydrant owned by Waqar Akhtar Pagganwala in IBC Garden area. The Electricity theft was confirmed.
There were few arrests from the premises including Farooq, Manager and his assistant, Munshi Sana ul Haq. In the subsequent developments, FIA arrested Waqar Akhtar Pagganwala also. FIA has registered FIR (33/14) against Mian Waqar Akhtar Paganwala, Farooq, Manager and his assistant, Munshi Sana ul Haq.
The IRB raised as a result of operation is approximately 530,000/-, whereas there are arrears of about 11 Million. Waqar Akhtar Pagganwala already has two other electricity theft FIRs against him in KE PS (one of the same premises and other of a Farm in IBC Gadap area).
KE along with FIA are running the anti-power theft drive as the power theft has become one of the major crime throughout the country.
