8119 SMS Service

As part of our AZM to transform K-Electric into a customer-centric power utility we have added SMS facility for the convenience of our customers. The K-Electric Mobile Service provides a host of features at your fingertips through SMS. Customers can now get in touch with us for instant assistance and also receive timely updates on developments in their area. After a one-time registration, customers can use the SMS feature to

  • Inquire about the load shed schedule
  • Report technical faults
  • Make billing inquiries
  • Stay informed about planned/emergency outages

How to Register

  • For Registration – type REG(space)[your 13 digit A/C #(e.g. REG 0400012345678)] and send message to 8119.

Shortly after submitting your request, you will receive a welcome note that confirms your registration with the K-Electric mobile service.

How to send SMS

  1. For Technical Complain
    • Registered users: Type COMP and send message to 8119.
    • Non registered users: Type COMP(space)[your 13 digit A/C #(e.g. COMP 0400012345678)] and send message to 8119.
  2. To check Registered Accounts
    • Type ACCT and send message to 8119
  3. To check Load Shed
    • Registered users: Type LS and send message to 8119.
    • Non registered users: Type LS(space)[your 13 digit A/C #(e.g. LS 0400012345678)] and send message to 8119.
  4. To check Bill
    • Registered users: Type BILL and send message to 8119.
    • Non registered users: Type BILL(space)[your 13 digit A/C #(e.g. BILL 0400012345678)] and send message to 8119.

How to De-Register

  • For De-Registration – type UNREG(space)[your 13 digit A/C #(e.g. UNREG 0400012345678)] and send message to 8119.
