KE Undertakes Maintenance Work at DHA & Azizabad Grids

Karachi, June 27, 2022: KE will be undertaking a critical maintenance activity at DHA & Azizabad Grids on June 28, 2022 to ensure the stability and reliability of power supply to consumers in the area.

As part of the necessary overhauling of the power infrastructure, this maintenance activity is time-critical that cannot be deferred, and is required to be completed before the arrival of the monsoon season. During the maintenance work, the DHA grid may face a shutdown from 9 am to 3 pm, whereas the Azizabad grid may face a shutdown from 10 am to 3 pm.

Grid stations are large complexes with critical electrical equipment which transform high voltage electricity generated by KE’s power plants to lower voltages for onward dispatch to the city’s 3.2 million consumers. KE’s operation teams are aligned and will be working on completing the maintenance work within the quickest possible timeframe.

Spokesperson KE stated, “This maintenance is necessary to undertake across our transmission and distribution network. These are time-critical maintenance activities that cannot be delayed and need to be executed before the arrival of the monsoon period. Information regarding such shutdowns is made publicly available in advance on KE’s website, and all registered customers are also issued an SMS via 8119 to keep them informed. We appreciate your patience and support during this time.”

Consumers may register to receive advance SMS notifications via KE by sending their 14-digit account number to 8119 via the following SMS: REGaccount number.
