Utility is Working to Ensure Power Supply to its Customers Remains Available And Safe.
KARACHI – 9th July 2022: Spokesperson, K-Electric while expressing sympathies over the three unfortunate incidents across Karachi on Saturday, categorically stated there was no utility infrastructure involved in these regretful accidents. The incidents were reported at Korangi, Al-Asif Square, and Baldia Sawat Colony and occurred inside homes or shops.
Reiterating caution amid more forecast for rain, KE requested citizens to continue maintaining a safe distance from all poles and street lights, especially in areas with standing water after the recent heavy rain spell. Tying of sacrificial animals to poles must also be avoided for their safety.
KE’s spokesperson advised the use of call center 118 for electricity emergency complaints which are tackled on a priority basis.
Power Update
Various parts of Karachi received moderate to heavy rainfall on Saturday, causing reported waterlogging across the city. KE’s network remained stable, while approximately 200 feeders out of 1900 were affected due to rain. Per KE spokesperson, “the majority of these feeders were powered down temporarily against safety protocols, due to prevalence of kundas or waterlogging in the affected areas. These have also been restored. Our teams are active to rectify localized faults as well.”
CEO KE visited several KE locations to take stock of distribution team efforts, and appreciated their ongoing commitment to ensure power supply amid tough operating conditions. Waterlogging in urban centers was affecting operations, and customers in these areas were requested for their patience while water levels receded to safe levels to resume activity.
For guidance on other queries and complaints, the utility company remains available for consumers 24/7 for any queries or complaints via its WhatsApp number +92-348-0000118, 118 call center, SMS service 8119, KE Live App, and social media platforms.
