arrangement, with a permitted drawl of up to 1600 MW, due to the ongoing construction of its originally planned connection point \u2014 NTDC\u2019s 500kV transmission line between K2\/K3 and PQEPCL. The project is pivotal in the sense that it is aligned with KE and GoP\u2019s strategy to develop power through indigenous baseload resources at a competitive cost. The Jamshoro Coal Power Project is a major step towards energy security and sustainability and will enable the utilization of indigenous Thar coal.  <\/p>\n<p>GoP is actively facilitating this conversion to local coal and has formulated a committee to oversee the execution of a Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) in November 2024. The successful completion of the BFS shall enable the conversion of the project which shall pave the way for the direct procurement of 660 MW of inexpensive baseload power, on long term basis, by KE.
