Karachi, January 6, 2026: K-Electric (KE) has emerged as a top-performing utility in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, securing “Outstanding” rankings across the functions of Generation, Transmission, and Distribution in the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority’s (NEPRA) 2024-25 HSE Performance Evaluation Report.

Based on a rigorous evaluation of operational safeguards, safety management systems, and on-ground implementation, NEPRA’s assessment places KE ahead of all other distribution companies. KE recorded an overall score of 96 points in Generation, 93.5 in Transmission, and 91 in Distribution, reaffirming its leadership in embedding safety and environmental responsibility across the entire power value chain.

The recognition reflects KE’s continued investments in strengthening workplace safety, enhancing system resilience, and embedding HSE considerations into operational decision-making.

Moonis Alvi, CEO at KE, said, “This recognition reinforces the culture we continue to build at KE – one where safety is not a compliance requirement, but a core value. Delivering reliable power to Karachi demands disciplined systems, skilled teams, and an uncompromising focus on protecting people, assets, and the environment. We are proud of our teams for sustaining these standards year after year.”

KE’s approach to HSE is closely aligned with its broader responsibility as a key enabler of economic activity and public well-being. The company continues to deploy advanced safety protocols, invest in modern equipment, and strengthen oversight mechanisms to ensure safe operations for employees, contractors, and the communities it serves.

Beyond its core operations, KE remains committed to promoting safety awareness at the community level. With targeted initiatives and campaigns such as Roshni Baji, Spot Kaaro, Stop Kaaro, and Farq Parta Hai, KE has raised awareness about safety and responsible consumption amongst communities. KE remains focused on advancing its HSE and sustainability agenda amid the evolving challenges of the energy sector.
