2 Petrol pumps along with residential, commercial and industrial illegal users raided – KE Spokesman
Karachi, May 26, 2015: Despite the false perception being created in certain sections, KE has yet again clarified that the ongoing operation is against power thieves and heavy defaulters and this operation is being done without any discrimination. KE has explained time and time again that these raids with the help of the FIA and Rangers are being done against influential people as well, from where KE had previously faced resistance.
Giving details KE’s press statement said that the FIA along with KE’s team raided different spots of Baldia, Uthal, DHA, Tipu Sultan, Garden, FB Area, Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, Gulshan, Surjani , Landhi, Johar and Korangi. Almost 6,500 illegal connections were removed and more than 3,300 KG of kunda (illegal connections) were pulled down. FIRs against culprits are underway whereas arrests have been made from areas which were no-go zones for KE before.
The FIA raided 2 petrol pumps near NED university who were involved in electricity theft. People involved were apprehended and investigation is underway. 4 people were arrested from Johar and Korangi whereas 1 arrest was made in Baldia.
Spokesman KE said, “Our teams are working round the clock against such thieves and heavy defaulters and we are conducting this operation not only for ourselves but for our good customers as well, who face the brunt of load-shed because of these illegal connections in their respective areas”.
KE’s statement also clarified that once these losses and theft is controlled via Operation Burq, KE’s own network would improve substantially which would in turn help out the good consumers.
