Karachi, December 13, 2016: K-Electric has geared up against power thieves and defaulters in different areas of the city.
As per details, the KE team took stringent action against some of the defaulters belonging to a residential apartment complex Marine Drive in Clifton, who owe millions of rupees to the power utility.
KE’s team also raided Zeenat Square, a residential building located in Liaquatabad, which was involved in electricity theft. Residents of this building owed dues worth over PKR 3 Crore to the power company whereas several illegal connections were also disconnected.
“KE continues to strive to eradicate power theft from all areas especially those where resistance from local residents is high. We have not confined our action plan to any specific locality, rather, we are taking action against defaulters without any discrimination in order to facilitate our loyal consumers,” remarked KE’s spokesperson.
KE has also initiated a repayment scheme for defaulters to clear their dues. In this regard, the regional team has been facilitating consumers by arranging camps in different areas of the city. As a result of this payment option facility, it is worth mentioning that residents of Apsara apartments in Liaquatabad have cleared their dues by availing it.
KE has also encouraged other consumers to cooperate and show their willingness to pay their outstanding dues by setting an example for others.
