Karachi 27th November, 2015: K-Electric is pleased to announce that the power utility through its sustainability management has extended support to Indus Hospital and will now provide a dedicated 132 KV connection for the hospital and its new grid on priority. K-Electric has already been providing subsidized electricity to the hospital; where the hospital serves its patients free-of-cost and on humanitarian grounds. This new project will ensure a smooth and reliable power supply to Indus hospital.
K-Electric humbly supports this cause because Indus Hospital is a non-profit organization and is now moving to be an Academic Medical Complex. The expansion entails a 1,500 Bed master plan, operation theatres and medical college which requires a growing electricity demand.
K-Electric’s CEO Mr. Tayyab Tareen lauded Indus Hospital’s efforts and said that Indus Hospital and KE have been partners for development and K-Electric is pleased to extend its support in the shape of a priority connection for this noble cause. We are ever ready to invest back into the society through our various CSR initiatives and will continue to do so.
Chief Executive Officer of Indus Hospital Professor Abdul Bari Khan on this occasion appreciated K-Electric’s efforts and thanked the power utility. He hoped this collaboration could go further so as to serve this country and its people with integrity, dedication and commitment.
K-Electric has become the first utility of Pakistan to receive an “A” Rating from the Global Reporting Initiative because of its commitment to sustainability of its environment, social governance and value creation philosophy. The power utility provides free and subsidized electricity to other non-profit institutions such as SIUT, Kidney Centre, Marie Addelaide Leprosy Centre, Lady Dufferin Hospital, TCF, LRBT amongst others.
