Under its Social Investment Program KE provides free electricity to LRBT
Karachi, June 2, 2015: K-Electric through its press statement has announced that the company has installed a Free-of-Cost 3-phase connection to the Layton Rahmatullah Benevolent Trust (LRBT) Eye Hospital located in North Karachi. KE has been providing free electricity to LRBT and has now provided their eye hospital a free three-phase connection so as to improve their operations.
The Social Investment Program is a unique model, by which the utility is committed in maintaining and improving partnerships in order to ensure that public welfare institutions such as LRBT, are enabled and empowered to create high value for the under-privileged communities they serve. Under the Social Investment Program, KE signed an MoU with LRBT according to which KE will provide free of cost electricity to all eye hospitals operating under LRBT.
Spokesperson KE said, “The installation of three-phase connection is part of company’s system enhancement and up-gradation effort. The initiative will provide relief to the hospitals in the form of monetary savings whereas the amount saved through this endeavor will ultimately be utilized in the welfare of 520,000 patients which LRBT reaches out annually.”
On this occasion, KE Spokesperson further added that the initiative is a reflection of the company’s commitment to support organizations working on humanitarian grounds. Currently KE has 13 partners under the Social Investment Program to whom it provides free or subsidized electricity.
