Karachi, 7th June, 2016: K-Electric, re-affirming its commitment of giving back to the society is delighted to announce that the power utility has installed a new and upgraded 400 KVa Dedicated Pole-mounted transformer (PMT) at the Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust (LRBT) Eye hospital located in Korangi. Along with this new PMT, enhanced cables and an upgraded network are also being installed at LRBT, the largest NGO of Pakistan fighting blindness. The additional provision by KE will ensure a smoother and more reliable supply of electricity to the Hospital and also increase the load capacity provided to LRBT.
Mr. Tayyab Tareen, CEO, K-Electric said “We are proud to partner with institutions that in this day and age share our commitment of giving back to our community and society. LRBT is one of our 14 major partners to whom we provide free-of-cost or subsidized electricity”.
Mr. Saquib Hameed, Chairman, LRBT, added “I thank K-Electric for its generosity in supporting our ambitious mission of ensuring that no man, woman or child goes blind just because they cannot afford the treatment. KE’s free provision of electricity to both of LRBT’s Korangi & North Karachi hospitals enables us to expand our services to poorer patients thus preventing the growth of blindness & impaired vision in Pakistan. K-Electric‘s latest initiative in enhancing the capacity of the PMT from 250 to 400 KVA and laying fresh cables to the Korangi hospital will go a long way in helping the Trust to introduce more sophisticated state of the art equipment as well meet the growing demand for our free quality services”.
