Karachi: K-Electric through its press statement was pleased to announce that the power utility has signed an accord with I Am Karachi to enhance public awareness and advocacy and to bring the civil society together via different social and cultural activities.
A signing ceremony was held at the KE House between Chief Marketing Officer Usama Qureshi, President of I Am Karachi, Jamil Yousaf whereas CEO K-Electric Tayyab Tareen, General Secretary of I Am Karachi Saad Amanullah were also present.
I am Karachi has been trying to revive the cultural and social aspects of Karachi and KE as a responsible corporate entity believes that it has a special role to give. I am Karachi through different initiatives has focused on a few aspects such as reclaiming public spaces, promoting social and cultural activities in Karachi via Sport, Art, Theatre, Music and Heritage.
I am Karachi through this accord would be collaborating with K-Electric for KE’s Lyari League which was a success story itself, and KE’s Cricket Tournaments in days to come. KE has always believed in promoting sports and culture and holds such tournaments in under-privileged areas of the city to give a platform to the younger generation so that they showcase their talent in order to secure a safer and improved future. KE would also be providing space on its monthly bills for I Am Karachi’s various informative messages.
On the occasion Chief Executive Officer Tayyab Tareen said, “We are not just a company that focuses on its prime business, but we want to give back to this society, this city and this country. Through our various CSR initiatives we have always kept our focus on giving back and we appreciate I Am Karachi’s efforts for reviving this city’s culture and heritage and we would extend our support to them in every which way”.
