Power utility has already reduced power tariff by Rs. 7.40 from the month of April 2014 to February 2015; seeks further reduction in tariffs
Karachi, April 10, 2015: K-Electric has submitted a request to NEPRA to reduce Rs. 1.59 per unit on account of monthly Fuel Surcharge Adjustment (FSA) for the month of February 2015.
In its press statement, KE said that it has already reduced power tariff by Rs. 7.40 from the month of April 2014 to February 2015.
KE’s spokesperson stated, “We have requested NEPRA for reduction in electricity tariff in a bid to provide relief and benefits to the consumers of the city. The decision has been made in the wake of reduction in fuel mix prices.”
With respect to KE’s submitted request, NEPRA will hold a public hearing for approval. The decision about the relief will only be applicable to consumers of KE.
