Karachi, June 6, 2016: K-Electric was victorious at the KCCA Interdepartmental Cricket Tournament by winning the 21st Hino-Pak Trophy. The final match held at the T.M.C. Cricket Ground, saw KE defeating Pakistan Navy by 81 runs.
As per a press statement, KE batted first and gave a target of 226 runs to their opponents in the 50 over match. For KE Javed Mansoor scored 83 while Majid Khan made his half-century and Faraz Khan scored a 25 to provide support to KE’s innings. Pakistan Navy batting second managed to score only 144 runs in 35.3 overs after they were bowled out.
K-Electric’s bowlers put in an impressive performance while defending this total and Hasaan Khan, Rizwan Khan, Waqar Anwar and Shadab Khan took 2 wickets each. Faraz A. Khan was also conferred the Best Player of the Tournament award for taking 17 wickets throughout the tournament. Earlier, KE had defeated M. A. Umer (Pvt.) Ltd. with one wicket to secure their place in the final.
