Staff badly beaten; material worth millions severely damaged: Spokesperson
Karachi, December 19th, 2015: K-Electric issued a press statement stating that during the installation of Aerial Bundles Cables in Upper Gizri, its staff was badly beaten and material worth millions was damaged to hinder the initiative.
According to the press statement, the ABC project was aimed to facilitate Upper Gizri with the promise of enhancing reliability and reducing losses by discouraging hook connections. The effort was coordinated with area representative, UC Chairman Mr. Karamullah Waqasi, at multiple fronts and work was initiated as per consent.
KE Spokesperson added “During the execution of this project yesterday, our staff was badly beaten and material worth millions was severely damaged, by few individuals led by Ms. Hameeda Bibi (Ex-Counsellor), Faheem, Faqeer Muhammad and others”.
K-Electric initiated this project in the greater interest of the community to improve their service to consumers. The power utility requested representatives of all political parties and it’s consumers to support the initiative as it would not only help in reducing faults, but also reduce load shed. K-Electric has successfully implemented ABC in parts of DHA including Phase II, Phase VI, Darakshan, Beach Avenue and Qayumabad which had resulted in 90% fault reduction resulting in zero load shedding throughout the year.
