All pumping stations are exempt from Load shed including Gharo, Pipri & Hub; KE Team Assisted in internal fault repairs: Spokesperson
Karachi, July 27, 2015: K-Electric issued a press statement in which it has strongly condemned allegations put forth by the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board of conducting load shed at pumping stations. KE clarified that power was supplied like usual to Gharo, Pipri and Hub water pumping stations and no load shed was carried out.
An internal fault at the Dhabayji pumping stations arose, although the fault was resolved restoring power supply immediately. A small portion of the pumping station being affected is no rationale for stopping the water supply to the entire city by KWSB.
K-Electric’s spokesperson added ‘Karachi Water and Sewerage Board is liable to pay K-Electric a hefty sum of PKR. 38 billion in debt. Neither does KWSB pay their bills nor does it have an alternate source of power in providing water to the metropolitan city. The water board should at least have a backup plan in case of a power outage at all pumping stations’.
For the benefit of the customers, K-Electric has exempt all pumping stations from load shed and has been actively involved in assisting the water board in repairing their internal faults. It was very disappointing that KWSB places baseless allegations on the power utility from time, transferring their core responsibility and dumping blame on K-Electric as an easy way out.
